Eric Bledsoe Commits to UK

After narrowing his list to UK and Memphis, Eric Bledsoe committed to UK Wednesday at his high school in Alabama, leaving Memphis fans heartbroken a third time within the past month and the Cats with a Top 5 recruting class possibly. After many people were left assuming he would decide after John Wall, the top rated PG in the country and UK prospect, he cut his list to Memphis and UK, Memphis being one of the schools which wasn't even on his radar until recently. He had cut Cincinnati and Florida from his list, the latter being the presumeable favorite for many weeks. After visiting Memphis last Thursday, he visited UK on Sunday and said that he was impressed with the facilities and the campus, as well as Lexington. When asked if it would be a problem with playing with Wall if he were to come, he said, “No, sir. No it don’t. I’m going to play my position either if he do go or he don’t.” With his commitment, UK is expected to have the #1 overall rated recruiting class in 2009 by Rivals.com and one of the best classes in both school history and college basketball history if John Wall signs on the dotted line with UK.
